What is a Zone?

A Zone can be whatever area on a webpage that you define and wish to update on a regular basis. It can be a full page of content, a column, row or table. MindHarbor will work closely with you during installation of the application to help you define each Zone that you plan to maintain.

How many Zones do I need?

The typical small business probably requires no more than 3-5 Zones. Too many Zones might prove difficult to keep updated on a regular basis. The key to successful content management is to ensure that content updates are made on a "regular" basis, which in turn will keep your visitors coming back more often. As previously stated, we will work with you to define your requirements. Please visit our Uses section to review a list of common applications for mmprove.

What is the difference between Publishers and Authors?

Publishers have complete editorial review authority over all Zones. In addition, they create and manage the Authors.

Authors can create and revise content within their assigned Zones.

Will mmprove create conflicts with my website's style guidelines?

Based on your website's style guidelines and your approval, we can activate a lock within mmprove which will allow the Users to access specific editing abilities (fixed fonts, fixed tables, etc…) and prohibit access to other editing features. Or, if you wish, you can have complete control over the look and feel of each Zone. Due to our plug-n-play functionality, content or graphic changes to an individual Zone will not affect the overall template throughout your website.

What are the system requirements to utilize mmprove?

If you chose to have us host your website and mmprove, you will never have to install any hardware or software or utilize an IT professional to get it up and running. Plus, you will always be using the latest version of mmprove. You immediately see the benefits each time the software is updated.

If you prefer to install on your server or if your website is hosted elsewhere, we will need to work with a Technical Contact in your organization or with your hosting provider to install the code.

What types of payment do you accept?

We accept company checks and most credit cards and invoice our clients on a monthly basis.

Are there per-user fees or do the monthly fees cover unlimited users?

There are no per-user fees. While we recommend nominating a single Publisher or limiting the number of Publishers to ensure content integrity, you can, theoretically, create as many Authors as you would like for each account.

Can we evaluate mmprove prior to purchase and installation on our website?

Yes, we can provide you with access to a demonstration account upon request. It will allow you to create and publish content to mmprove's demo website. Contact us for more information.

What is the difference between mmprove for websites and mmprove for online publications?

mmprove for websites enables you to easily create, update and manage all types of website content as needed. This solution is perfect for the majority of websites.

mmprove for online publications was specifically designed to manage web-based newsletters and other online publications. By working from one central database, you can easily control what articles are displayed at any given time. The automatic archive and search functionalities keep your old material available for your readers as needed without utilizing costly man-hours to move, store and index this data.

Which version do I need?

You may require both, especially if you have traditional, brochure-type website content and an online publication that you would like to update on a regular basis. Both types of content might be displayed on the same website or portal.

MindHarbor Inc., the creator and developer of mmprove, manages websites, information and servers for its domestic and internationally-based clients. We take careful precautions to protect our customers' information. Your website is password protected. No one will be able to access your data unless you grant permission. We recommend nominating one Publisher account that has administrative authority to set-up, edit and terminate your identified Author accounts as needed. Though we offer safeguards to protect your data, please keep in mind that we can not guarantee 100% security. Take appropriate security measures with your links, passwords, and user accounts.
